Me-Made-May'15 …ama e indossa quello che crei!

In January I decided to take part in the Wardrobe Architect Challenge 2015 in order to find out my own style, to understand what I like and what I don’t like to wear and to design/sew in a less random way.

In these months I’ve noticed that the exercises I’ve carried out so far have helped me to be more aware and to get focused on garments I really need, to avoid dedicating time and energies toward creating a beautiful handmade dress that however stays closed in my wardrobe. Indeed from time to time I got myself caught up by the creative process or the will to experiment styles and techniques more than a real need.

From now on I would like to create garments and put them on right away. And obviously I would like to put on the ones that I’ve already sewep up much more.

For this reason I decided to take part in the Me-Made-May’15. Here’s my pledge:

I, Martina of www.ladulsatina.com, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’15. I endeavour to wear at least one me-made garment each week for the duration of May 2015

It would be nice to partecipate with a garment a day, but putting together what I’ve done so far (and that could be worn in the month of May without dying of heat) I think that a dress a week is what I can do at most.

Me-Made-May, a challenge created by Zoe five years ago, encourages people to wear their own handmade/homemade garments and accessories more than they usually do…practically it encourages you to love what you make and to be proud of it.

To participate you have only to post your pledge in the comments of this post. Instagram and Twitter hashtag: #mmmay15

At the end of May I’ll let you know if I managed to keep my pledge 🙂

I think this idea is really great, especially in face of this recent viral video -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdLf4fihP78 – that reminds us all about ethical shopping and clothing. I’m going to look into this challenge and probably will take part in it! Thanks for sharing, dear! It will also be lovely to see your beautiful makes in action :).

Thank you too for sharing this video. It made me think a lot about how can a dress price be so low, considering the work behind it… It’s scary. When you start making things by yourself, you start thinking about the value of work and time, and you realise that a dress cannot cost 4,99 €…
